1. How do I change my status from student to pilot?

Your status depends on how many posts you make on the forum. Everyone starts as a student, and progresses up from there.

Note however, that some staus names are reserved.
One of these is "instructor" - which obviously only applies to people who ARE instructors. That way, when reading a response, you have an idea as to the authority of the answer!
